Updated: May 27

One of our branch business “Good root” Market and Deli had preview opening for a taste test on May 25, 2020. The grand opening will be June 1. The highlight of our market and deli is excellent quality, Gobi meat.

In the Gobi there are a few species of desert shrubbery and grass, convolvulus and tamarix, ramson, wild leek, salt worth, which can survive the temperature extremes and low rainfall of the desert. One plant is unique to a specific area of the Gobi Desert is saltwort. This weed-like plant has an extremely high tolerance to salt, making it the ideal plant life to thrive in the least vegetative area of the region, the Salt Desert. The salt content of this area of the Gobi is so high that it prevents most other plant life from surviving.

Plants, animals, and even humans can find ways to survive the extreme landscape and temperatures of the Gobi Desert. The Gobi is arguably one of the harshest environments on the planet, but life still finds a way to exist there.

Scientists have established that livestock began to be domesticated in Mongolia during the Mesolithic period, 15,000-7,000 years ago. As a result of long-term natural selection in the harsh continental and ecological conditions, and centuries-old selection of livestock. Mongolian livestock has adapted to harsh climatic conditions and retained its unique biological characteristics. Mongolian breeds have a long tradition and breeding during the four seasons of the year. There are over 800 different types of herbs, grasses, and depending on a season, free-grazing animals select necessary herbs and grasses they need to nourish themselves with.
